Optical Vortices Section

Staff of Optical Vortices Section both theoretically and experimentally worked out and realized the high-effective way of the optical vortices generation with the optical wedge at the expense of Gaussian beam diffraction by the edge of the wedge. The technique enables us to generate single optical vortices and combined singular beams both visual and IR spectral range with the diffractive efficiency nearly 100% up to 20 W in a light power.
This technique gives an opportunity to construct the experimental set-up for trapping and transportation of microparticles with their sizes up to 200 in 1.06 spectral range.
The next unique devise represents the set-up for a generation and a control both of coherent and white (or iridescent) optical vortices due to transmitting of the Gaussian beam through the system of optical crystals. The set-up permits to create combined optical vortices with controlling of their angular and linear positions both in visual and IR spectral range with the energy-efficiency not lower than 50%.
The Section was founded in 1993
